Protective Measures against Mosquito Attacks during Monsoons

As monsoons hit, so starts the problem of the pesky insects known as mosquitoes. These pests are very small in size but their bites can lead to dangerous outcomes. As mosquitoes are known to breed in the stagnant waters, the rainy season is the peak season for their breeding as there are ample source of such standing waters. So during this season often people suffer from the mosquito borne diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Yellow Fever and many more, which at times can be life taking. So mosquito repellents are the need of the hour.

These very annoying pests mainly attack their victims by the smell of their body, carbon dioxide, body temperature and dark colored clothes. They suck on the blood of the victims which helps in the production of their eggs. By their bites they either transmit the deadly diseases or cause skin irritation which often can lead to infections in the long run.

Mosquito Repellent which are sold in the form of creams, lotions or mists hence work great on repelling away the pests. Once applied on the body they cover its smell and emit their own strong odor which keeps the mosquitoes away. They do not kill them rather keep them away from humans. Today such repellents are available with natural or chemical components.

Another way to keep the household mosquito free is by planting certain bushes or plants which keeps mosquitoes bay, in their gardens or inside their houses. Rosemary, peppermint, garlic and marigold works wonder to ward off these annoying insects. Regular misting of insecticides in the surrounding of the houses can also keep them away during mosquitoes.

Thus during monsoons people should take extra protective measures during monsoons to avoid mosquito attacks.
