Few Ingredients Used in Natural Mosquito Repellents

Mosquito are one of the most hated pests in the world. Their bites cause itchy skin rashes, while few other species transmit deadly diseases like Malaria, Dengue, and many others. So mosquito control is very important to stay protected from these diseases.

Mosquito repellents are the best solution for these pests. In recent times using natural repellents is the trend as they are not only effective in warding off the mosquitoes but are safe to apply on the body. These natural repellents are manufactured mostly with essential oils that have proved to work great in repelling mosquitoes and other biting insects.

The lemon eucalyptus oil is said to be the most commonly used essential oil. Many scientific studies have found that it is more effective than many other chemical based products. Their pleasant lemony smell helps in keeping the pests away from human beings.  The Germanium oil is another active ingredient that is used in manufacturing the Natural Mosquito Repellent. Studies have probed that it gives 94.6 minutes of protection from the low concentration of DEET based repellents.

Citronella is one of the most common oil that is used in repelling products like lotions sprays or the candles. They are very effectual in repelling mosquitoes away without killing them. It is their very pleasant smell that restricts the mosquitoes from biting the people.

Apart from these common essential oils the other natural products used in the repellents are clove oil, neem extracts, rosemary, cinnamon, soya bean oil, thyme, marigold and garlic. Many people are seen to use these ingredients in making homemade products.
